Dear Master,
I have a question concerning your video about 8 Brocade Qi Gong and Glaucoma.

In fact, my father has a glaucoma and he doesn't speak english. He would like to know what is your advise about those 8 exercises and Glaucoma, are they allowed? only one of them? Finally, what is your best advice for him?
Many thanks in advance for your time and please receive our warm regards.

Dear Exxxx,
Thank you for your question. There is a movement in the Brocade 8, which is normally practiced with shouting couple with punches.
The article of old books said about "angry eyes" with this movement.
In fact, many read 'angry' by the shapes.
Angry eyes, in my understanding, refer to those of the four soldiers (Statues) in front of Buddhism Temple.
The eyes of the soldiers are round and large. But in fact, the meaning of the angry eyes, in Buddhism, is 'To eye nothing'.
So in practicing every movement of Brocade 8, or Qi Gong, we try to release the eye pressure rather than thrusting the muscles around the eyes. It helps prevent or suffering from Glaucoma.
Regards,
Peter Z
